EVERYONE is invited to attend First Friday in Downtown York, presented by WellSpan Health!

First Friday is a celebration of Downtown shops, restaurants, cultural venues, and nightlife hotspots. From 5:00PM – 9:00PM, downtown shops and restaurants host special events, offer refreshments & promotions, and sponsor live entertainment.

Who’s out on Beaver Street?
Penn State York Benefitting THON
They will have a table set up with volunteers from York’s THON Organization and have information about what they do and the future fundraisers that they will be hosting.

The York Review
They are a York College organization that publishes a literary magazine every fall semester. They will be promoting their literary magazine, but also selling t-shirts for 10 dollars and suggesting donations for our 23rd issue of The York Review.

Texas Roadhouse – York
They will have Gift Cards and Gift Baskets, small items that are perfect for stocking stuffers. They will also do a giveaway of one of our baskets (no purchase necessary to enter!)

Lincoln Highway Association PA Chapter
They will be providing information about the first coast to coast highway as well as selling some LH themed products.

Michelle L. Kreeger, State Farm Agent
She will have a tent, providing giveaways. People will also have the opportunity to open a bank account or get an insurance quote.

First Friday Activities in the Market District #FF
Appell Center for the Performing Arts (50 North George Street)
Whether you are a fan of Jazz music or love music of all kinds don’t miss an opportunity to witness the upcoming Jazz music series at the Appell Center for the Performing Arts.

Under the artistic direction of Jeff Stabley, Jazz in the City will welcome regional musicians each month during First Friday festivities from 5:00pm to 7:00pm in the Studio at the Appell Center for the Performing Arts.

Elks Lodge #213 – York, PA (223 North George Street)
Mama Tried is back at the York Elks Lodge for November’s First Friday from 7-11 pm playing an eclectic mix of high energy, Motown, Soul, Country, Rock, Classic Rock and the old standards. This band fills the lodge to capacity so call to reserve your table! $15 cover. Ring the buzzer at the front door to be admitted.

Dinner is available from 5-9 pm. Non-members – enter the free drawing for a chance to win a $25 Lodge Gift Certificate. Must be present to win. See you at the Lodge!

Goodridge Freedom Center (123 East Philadelphia Street)
The Goodridge Freedom Center opens its annual Christmas Tree Display starting this First Friday, from 4-8 pm. Come see a variety of trees in the first home in York to publicly display a Christmas Tree! Visitors can also learn about the history of the Goodridges, and their roles in the development of York and the Underground Railroad.

Cherie Anne Designs (48 West Philadelphia Street)
Cherie Anne Designs will be offering 20% off all yarn for your fall and winter knitting projects. We will also be giving free take home tea samples with anyone who makes a purchase and for all new customers. Auntie’s Pumpkin pie hot tea tasting, too!

Studio 117 York (117 South Duke Street)
The Beatz Holiday Party – We will be welcoming everyone inside our studio for a musically enhanced holiday party. Our party will be filled with festive foods, beverages, and musical performances. We are looking to decorate studio 117 with festive holiday decorations and have all staff wear their favorite ugly holiday sweater to draw interest toward our holiday party. Our artist (Garrett Shultz) will be performing acoustic holiday covers to stay on par with our theme, and we will also be having Karaoke Kid entertain the crowd with classic holiday songs to keep the party going. Lastly E Wine Guy might be making an appearance and provide our 21+ party goers with wine samples.
